In order to provide a report to the legislature, the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) has engaged Wichita State University to learn more about the implementation and effectiveness of the Mental Health Intervention Team (MHIT) program provided in school districts across the state. This is in response to House Bill 2567, which states that KSDE will "…contract with a third-party entity to conduct a study of the effectiveness of the program and suggest improvements to the program” and that "the department of education shall provide a report on or before January 1, 2023, to the director of the budget and the director of legislative research..."

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Your responses to the survey will be confidential and will only be reported in aggregate (i.e., only in combination with other responses). Your decision to participate is completely voluntary, and you may stop the survey at any time. All questions in the survey are required to be answered in order to provide complete results to the legislature. Please answer to the best of your ability regarding only services provided through the MHIT program.
